Stolpersteine (stumbling blocks) is a project of the German artist Gunter Demnig. The memorial tablets in the size of cobblestones shall remind of the victims of National socialism and Holocaust and are laid in front of the victim´s home or workplace.

On 24th of July 2010 there were laid 21 stones in 11 different places in Wiener Neustadt. On 4th and 5th of July 2011 there were added further 33 stones. On March 26th, 2012 six new stones were layed. The documentary of the new stones has already been added on this website.

In November 2011 the book about the stumbling blocks of Wiener Neustadt was published and was presented at a ceremony. Also relatives of the victim‘s were invited. The book "Stolpersteine für Wiener Neustadt - Stadtführer des Erinnerns" was published at Verein Alltag Verlag.

Stolpersteine Wiener Neustadt is a project of the AG (project group) Stolpersteine, a non profit organisation founded by the association „Aktion Mitmensch“ and the street paper „Eibisch-Zuckerl“.
